About the Artist – Diane Felice
“Art has opened a new world for me – a new way of seeing, thinking, and communicating. It allows me to appreciate the beauty in ordinary things, be creative, and speak through my work.”
Diane’s love of art began as a child, drawing figures and fashions, and grew as a young adult studying design and marketing. Following five years in marketing she decided to translate her real-world design experiences into the classroom. Diane taught introductory and advanced high school studio art for five years in Fairfax County, Virginia, specializing in 3D art and ceramics. There she was able to share her love of art and design knowledge and nurture the creativity and imagination of her students, helping them to develop their own artistic skills.
While taking time off from teaching to stay home with her children, she found a passion for designing handmade, fine silver jewelry – it allows her to be an active artist while balancing the demands and rewards of motherhood. Diane began creating jewelry for family and friends, receiving overwhelming response to her work and instant demand. From this, she began showing and selling her work, has since expanded her skills and now combines high quality beads, chain and gold with her fine silver work. Her studio is in her home in Arlington, Virginia, where she lives with her husband and two sons.
Diane received her BS in Design and Marketing from Drexel University in 1996. She earned her Masters in Secondary Art Education from George Washington University in 2001. Most recently, Diane has taken classes through The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, and has taught elementary and middle school art in Arlington County Public Schools.
